" Yielding Light" to reduce "Your turn or my turn" delays.
You know the situation: At night, you arrive at an intersection after another car, which has the right of way. The car does not move. So you start to accelerate. Now the car moves. You stop, giving right of way. The other car stops too, having seen you acceleration. You wave, but you cannot be seen from the distance, in dark conditions. The other car is waiting...its time for you to move on, so you accelerate, but just then the other driver has made up his mind to use his right of way, and accelerates too. You stop, but now he stops again. Ad infinitum. Multiply this with 100 million drivers, and this is a costly game of shyness. We will be sponsoring a referendum to make mandatory a dashbord cliplight with four green LEDs. When you are yielding, tap the touch sensitive switch, and the other driver can move on. No delay. This is also a problem in letting hesitant drivers into your lane. Driver  uncertainty increases traffic jams. yieldinglight
