Hallitube Facts : Learn about a Novel User-Skill-based Mass Transit System (May 2005)

Hallitubes - are reactive , semi-private, Mass Transit, - a 8 mile system can be put up in 4 months, as opposed to a decade.
Hallitubes  are highway-compatible - the existing street system does not have to be redesigned as with rail.
Hallitubes are minimalist, - if an advantageous route has been identified, only that route, and no more has to be put it in. (This is not efficient with rail or subway systems due to need for yards, turning areas, purchasing economies of scale, etc).
Hallitubes are a thrill ride: a mixture between luge, train, and go-cart - at 100mph, and you are in charge.
Hallitubes - are not for everyone: a special license and credit check are required: semi-private system.
Hallitubes - are ridden while reclining, with only your upper body and head raised..
Hallitubes - are a franchise - because local people understand the route opportunities and commuting patterns best.
Hallitubes - mean that you can live in Carlsbad and work in San Diego w.o. a long commute. Living in a distant suburb is like being downtown.
Hallitubes - save the typical 40 mile commuter in a congested area 22 twelve hour days in a 200 day year.
Hallitubes - cost only about 12 percent of subways or trains.
Hallitubes - allow you to take off at once, no waiting at the station for a "group vehicle" (train, bus, subway).
Hallitubes do not require separate construction of stations - you rent a rooms in an existing structure, or purchase suburban homes.
Hallitubes - are possible because of the low pylon weight required to support an extremely light elevated rail.
Hallitubes if you have ridden a roller coaster, in a straight end run, you know how they feel.
Hallitubes - you pick up your own temporary cart, and put it back on the stack at your destination.
Hallitubes - you can ride your bike on top of them, and look down at the traffic jam.
Hallitubes - are extensible: as Maglev and LIM technologies become cheaper, and as electric motors become ever lighter and faster, they can adopt these technologies without replacing the tube structure. Franchisees buy only as many carts as they need.
Hallitubes - you know how it feels inside them if you have gone down an enclosed waterside.
Hallitubes - give parents more quality time with their children, singles more leisure, and work addicts more hours.
Hallitubes
-
traveling them, no more grime, no one stepping in your way "exguse me...I need a dollar...".
Hallitubes - are not a cult: but need to be run like one,  sequential  high speedttravelersmust follow rules
Hallitubes
-
you know the other riders have a good credit record, like you
Hallitubes
-
mean no more " I won't make that train". Your cart is always waiting.

Hallitubes - are strangers to "cost overrun" : private investors watch construction progress like angry hawks.
Hallitubes  - if you have spun a high quality roller blade bearing - watch a Hallicart wheel spin twice as long.
Hallitubes  - don't ever get congested: because the entry rate is lower than the exit rate..
Hallitubes  - as soon as you step off the track, arriving with your cart, you are whisked away by a moving platform to make room for new arrivals.

Hallitubes
 - remove 30-40 % of vehicles from highways near urban areas over time.

Hallitubes  -allow two methods to rapidly remove carts from arrival area: 1) conveyors whisking carts to the side 2) conventional rail parking extending beyond a house
Hallitubes  - are the first semi-public transit system where you can purchase your own vehicle

Hallitubes
 -  have your Hallicart available to you in the morning at your suburban station
Hallitubes     - allow no doubt about how fast they can go:  if you put a bicycle into our recumbent frame, it can go 50 mph, using muscle power
Hallitubes     - have light carts because there are no batteries, electricity is picked up from a third rail.  -  are easy to get out of in an emergency:  lift your windshield, slide it to the side, reach up, open tube top, walk/slide to the next pylon, descend.   - keep you safe from ever being hit by a car from the side or in a frontal collision
Hallitubes    - have in most early tracks no exits along the main road, you go from point a to b directly. You need not operate any switches to set rails.
Hallitubes     - when you arrive at your destination, there is a wait of a  few seconds until a switch assigns one of three tracks to you and 10-20 carts behind you.
Hallitubes    - with the fun of the ride and the saved time comes an obligation:  as you are pushed into the station, jump out of your cart, and store it against the wall
Hallitubes    - In a highness station, just drive your cart to the end of the rail assigned by the in-station switch - and leave...that's it.
Hallitubes    - 97% of the carts move like a tide between suburbs and malls or business districts - the other 3%  are "rebalanced" at night, pushed by one cart.
Hallitubes    -  Allow you to get to the highway without going through any lights
Hallitubes    - are 90% built on highways - so no land has to be purchased, no neighborhoods have to be erased
Hallitubes     - don't have to be as high as an amusement park rollercoaster: this is what monorail or maglev trains need to be to make it across overpasses...
Hallitubes    - are built with simple construction crews - because they are built low - no highway lane has to be closed
Hallitubes    - are cheap: no overtime-earning drivers with pensions - you drive.
Hallitubes  - if somebody tries to tell you there is going to be a traffic jam inside the tube, ask them to specify how it is supposed to come about, and about spare exits.
Hallitubes   - all portions of the tube are under video-surveillance with and without cart passage, any differences in images raise an alarm.
Hallitubes  - are not like other personal-rapid-transit systems (PRT) in that the carts are so much smaller and faster and easier to store that construction is a snap.
Hallitubes -  are often criticized in the same vein as Light Rail: will people go to the station ? Answer: they cost a fraction of Light Rail, so they are worth building for
just a few riders, they pay their investment back in a few years.
Hallitubes - Polls show that people are indeed willing to spend a day getting a license, to sit recumbent and ride at 100 mph at the height of a telephone pole.
Halllitubes - The picture of commuting a mile to a station has changed: you can now use powered scooters, and you will be able to ride both on the street or
sidewalk, as long as you follow  pedestrian passing rules. We even lend you the scooter to commute to your city location.
Halllitubes
- Help the disabled, because they will lighten vehicle traffic and allow vans to be on time.
Halllitubes - They are not enclosed: There are large open sections constantly to prevent buildup of a pressure wave. Plexiglass windows allow you to look out.
Halllitubes
- Their   tops are closed because wind or hail might destroy or scratch the windshield at top speeds.
Halllitubes
- Have a third rail, but this is no more scary than the realization that when driving a car in a two-way road rapidly, a small erroneous wrist movement would kill you by carrying you into the opposing lane.
Hallitubes - Get your license early: Once Hallicarts can be seen rushing along highways at more than twice the speed of cars, everyone will want one, we will not be
able to fullfill demand. Don't be like the folks who thought Americans will not want personal computers in their homes....
Hallitubes - We have not been selling a lot of consumer technologies to the world lately - mechanical systems are not made here any more...its time to bring us back
to the point where other countries buy and license a technology from us.
